FLASHER FOTO is an extension of the creative mind and talent of photographer, Jeff Valdez. Having carried a camera around for over 20 years and taking photos primarily of natural and architectural wonders, the opportunity presented itself to take this passion to the next level. He enrolled in a photography course at Santa Monica College to learn basic black & white darkroom techniques. Encouraged and inspired by the instructors (all of them working photographers), and the incredible facility, Jeff was catapulted into the world of photography. Working through the gamut of courses from portraits to commercial photography, the next, natural extension was into the world of digital imaging. PhotoShop, digital capture, Quick Time Virtual Reality (QTVR) and web design. QTVR holds a special appeal for him, the interactive aspect of the media and yet to be explored applications are exciting.

Jeff has experience working with a number of different types of cameras and lighting systems. 35mm, medium format (Mamiya & Hasselblad) and 4x5 view cameras and Norman and Speedotron Strobe lighting systems. Complimenting that arsenal are advanced digital imaging systems, Phase Back (4x5 view camera) and Megavision digital back for medium format systems.
                                             
Mr. Valdez has had the honor of having his work exhibited in the annual Santa Monica College Student Photography Exhibit in 1999, 2000 and 2001. His images were also selected to be shown in the Los Angeles County Fair Photo Exhibit, a juried show in 2000 and 2001.
